Their mission is to perform a constructive and objective role in the insurance industry. The A.M. Best site provides articles on relevant issues, a rating of formal sector insurers (by country), country risk studies, and extensive global insurance information. There are even sourcing tools for insurance attorneys and claims adjusters by country throughout the world.This site should be very helpful to MFIs looking for insurer partners.

Established in 1994, the IAIS represents insurance regulators and supervisors of some 190 jurisdictions in nearly 140 countries, constituting 97% of the world`s insurance premiums. It also has more than 120 observers. Members of IAIS along wth the CGAP Working Group on Microinsurance make up th Joint Working Group on Micoinsurance and developed the document `Issues and Regulations and Supervision of Microinsurance.`

The Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority
In 1981, Act no.10 established the Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority (EISA) as an independent corporate body with its headquarters in Cairo. It was given the authority to supervise and control all insurance activities in Egypt from licensing to closure of insurance companies.
